ZXS provide solutions with customerized stainless steel strips on hardened and tempered conditions

Cold rolled steel strips gains higher strength properties through hardening and tempering

Cold rolled strips are passed through series of heating and cooling furnaces to acquire specific properties

This strips is used where parts do not have severe bending and forming Using this strips gives following benefits

  • No part distortion
  • Constant mechanical properties
  • Uniform surface finish
  • No risk of surface decarburizing

Additional Process steps for H&T Strips

1.Heat Treatment (Hardening):

The cold-rolled steel strip is then subjected to a heat treatment process known as hardening. This involves heating the steel to a critical temperature, typically above its austenitizing temperature, and then rapidly quenching it in a quenching medium such as oil or water. Rapid quenching causes the steel to undergo a phase transformation, forming a hardened structure with increased hardness and strength.

2.Tempering:

The hardened steel strip is then tempered to achieve the desired balance of hardness and toughness. Tempering involves reheating the hardened steel to a specific temperature below its critical temperature and holding it for a precise duration. This process relieves some of the internal stresses introduced during hardening and allows controlled transformation of the martensitic structure, resulting in a tougher and more ductile material.

3.Finishing Operations:

After hardening and tempering, the steel strip may undergo various finishing operations such as straightening, grinding, or polishing to achieve the final dimensions, surface finish, and edge profile required for the intended
application.
